What is Marseille?

Marseille soap or Savon de Marseille 

 is a traditional soap made from vegetable oils

 that has been made around Marseille, France, for about 600 years.

It contains 72% olive oil hence is high moisturizing, high antioxidant and extremely mild soap.

Added with Fresh Goat Milk, the benefits is double up!

Olive oil
Since 500 B.C., the benefits that olive oil on the body have been widely known. 

The advantages, however, are not just limited to inside the body. 

Olive oil soap can also be healthful to the skin. 

Rich in vitamin E and beta carotene, as well as being an antioxidant, 

it stimulates new cell generation, 

slows the progression of wrinkles, and gives skin a youthful look. 

Extremely mild, 

helps people with a variety of skin conditions.

Hydroxytyrosol, an antioxidant found only in olive oil, provides anti-inflammatory effects to help heal skin abrasions, rashes and even sunburn. It is also non-greasy and will not clog pores, helping those with acne.

FAQ on Handmade Soaps

I have sensitive skin and can't use most soaps. Will I be able to use yours?

Yes, most likely you will be able to use handmade soaps 

because they are incredibly mild and gentle. 

Most commercial soaps are detergent based, 

using lots of synthetic ingredients, and that's what usually causes skin reactions. 

I  don't use any artificial colorants, hardeners, latherers or preservatives

. 

If you have allergies to fragrance,

 then I suggest you to choose an unscented soap.

What should I do to make my soap last longer?

Let your soap dry out between uses, 

by putting your soap on some kind of a soap dish that allows air to circulate the bar. 

A soap dish will either raise the bar up for air to circulate from beneath, 

or contain air holes for drainage of water below the soap. 

If you store your soap in the little alcove built into most shower stalls and tub surrounds, 

the shower spray will continually soak your soap. 

So please try to avoid that. 

You can also use a sisal bag or netted sponge to further extend the soap's lather. 

Handmade natural soaps will last longer if you take care of them!
